1st Win in Canada (38th career)
Pleasant Courtney - April 28th, 1993

My first four rides in Canada where at the old Greenwood racetrack right downtown Toronto along the lakeshore on April 9th, 1993. I finished 2nd on the 3rd ride on a horse named "Keeplookingatme" on a sloppy course.

My 5th ride in Canada was also my very first ride and win at Woodbine racetrack on April 28th, 1993. The horses' name was "Pleasant Courtney" and we won going 7 furlongs (7/8 of a mile) on a fast dirt course. She was trained by Rita Schnitzler on whom I continued riding many winners during my last few months of my "bug" (apprenticeship).

Shown below is pleasant Courtney - lucky no. 13 and myself.
