From School to Incitatus, then Back to School

I quit racing on June 14th, 1998 and immediately started going to the Toronto School of Business to study for my computer training in the Microsoft Skills 2000 course. See story in Racing Articles.

However as I had previously won on a fellow Barbadian horse called Incitatus at Woodbine, I retained the mount to ride him on July 1st, 1998 - the Canada Day bank Holiday! I had to lose 14 pounds within 4 days as my weight had gone up drastically within 2 weeks in order to tack 113lbs. which Incitatus was scheduled to carry in the allowance race on July 1st on the turf.

Needless to say it was a GREAT win of mine on this notable Barbadian-bred horse named Incitatus. We laid off the pace until we hit the top of the stretch and then from around 3rd place or so I made my move to the front and ended up winning by 1 1/2 lengths!!!!
